me

I'm Becky* Stewart. I'm a co-founder of Codasign, a consultancy for interactive multimedia applications.

I used to be a researcher at the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary, University of London. I am interested in helping people find music in new and interesting ways. In many cases, I use interactive spatial audio environments.

*Becky is short for Rebecca. I have learned that is not always obvious, depending on your cultural background. I am happy to be addressed as either Becky or Rebecca. I publish under my full name.

theleadingzero is a gender theory and math pun.

This domain name was inspired by Sadie Plant's book Zeros + Ones: Digital Women and the New Technoculture. In her book, Plant explores parallels between being female, being feminine, the history of computing, the history of weaving, science fiction literature and a multitude of other topics. I found inspiration for the domain name from the chapter Holes.
